  1.                         LIGHT BEAM CONTROLS

  4. The height of the beam is controlled by the 
  5. knob near the top of the illumination tower.  
  6. The height of the beam is shown in the small window above the height control knob. The 
  7. lever between the height control and window 
  8. is used to put neutral density filters, cobalt 
  9. and green filters in the light beam.

  11. The top portion of the light tower rotates the 
  12. light beam.  The post that the height 
  13. adjustment knob is on can be grasped to 
  14. rotate this part of the tower.  The amount of rotation is noted on the scale at the position 
  15. of the metal rod below beam height control.  
  16. This is useful, for example, in measuring the rotation of toric contact lenses.
